Core Gameplay and Class Systems
A Mage's position determines whether a cast is safe to finish. Pull with room to move, watch nearby enemies and use control to create time rather than waiting until a target reaches you.
Mana management is part of the route. An extra powerful cast can shorten a fight, but repeated expensive choices can make the next pull slower. Evaluate your available spells and recovery in the current Beta instead of copying a future-cap rotation.

Mage in PvE
Mage provides ranged spell damage and control. In a dungeon, coordinate crowd control with the group and protect cast time by standing where mechanics and incoming enemies will not immediately interrupt it.
Mage in PvP
Spacing, control timing and the choice to commit to a cast define many Mage exchanges. The best response depends on the opponent and current Beta abilities, not a fixed launch ranking.
