NEW IN 7.56 · LIMITED JOB
Catch familiars, issue commands and work through a separate level-50 path. Read the entry requirements and duty limits before planning around this job.
These notes paraphrase the official 7.56 rules and avoid untested best-rotation claims.
Beastmaster is a melee DPS limited job that fights beside captured familiars. Its progression is a separate collection-and-command loop rather than a standard roulette leveling route.
Finish The Ultimate Weapon, have any Disciple of War or Magic at level 50, then speak to the Excited Adventurer in New Gridania at X:11.8, Y:13.6 to begin Strangers in the Wood.
The job begins at level 1 and currently stops at 50. FATEs award extra beastmaster experience. Unlike blue mage, ordinary open-world enemy kills do not receive an extra experience bonus.
Use Gauge to check whether a target can be befriended, weaken it, apply Capture, then defeat it before the status ends. Lower health improves the attempt, but a pact is not guaranteed. Kornago gourds provide another capture route without combat.
The Master's Bestiary records recruited familiars, their abilities and habitats. Assign one to a battlehorn, then use that battlehorn to summon it; only one familiar can be active at a time.
Both the beastmaster and familiar build TP through actions. At 100 TP, instinctual skills become available. The Inner Compass tracks four affinities; chaining compatible skills within seven seconds adds combo damage. Tempered Release commands a familiar attack, while Borrow grants a separate player action.
The Crucible is a solo board duty unlocked through the beastmaster quest line at level 30. Your HP and familiar HP do not regenerate naturally inside; items and spaces restore them. Scores determine remnants, while familiars gain experience and can reach beast rank 25. Later degrees increase enemy health and damage.
Beastmaster shares monk and samurai equipment outside its dedicated weapons. Crucible remnants can be exchanged or used to enhance beastmaster-specific gear with the Kornago merchant in Central Shroud.
Build TP, coordinate familiar and player instinctual skills, then chain affinities through the Inner Compass. The official guide describes the system but does not prescribe one best familiar, gear set or fixed damage rotation, so this hub does not invent one.
Preformed or unrestricted parties can enter some duties, but roulettes, Ultimate raids, Deep Dungeons, PvP, Occult Crescent, Variant/Criterion dungeons and several other activities remain unavailable. It also cannot use role actions or be assigned to a retainer.
Official rules: Square Enix Patch 7.56 notes. Checked 2026-10-04.
Short in-hub notes keep every card useful without opening thin standalone pages.
Beastmaster-only board duty. A later September hotfix added minimum average item levels of 25, 35 or 82 depending on board; read the duty prompt before entering.
The field expedition remains a separate progression route. Beastmaster cannot enter Occult Crescent content under the 7.56 limited-job restrictions.
Confirm the active quest step and required currency in your quest journal before grinding; this draft hub does not publish unverified material totals.
Patch 7.56 removed weekly reward restrictions and enabled the Echo for AAC Heavyweight Tier (Savage).
An Ultimate duty in the current Dawntrail cycle. Check its in-game unlock and party entry requirements before preparing a group.
A crafting and gathering progression track. Review the current mission list and your crafter or gatherer level before committing materials.
The official notes introduce beastmaster and Crucible, remove AAC Heavyweight Savage weekly restrictions, and start PvP Series 12.
First check the main scenario quest, your role and equipped item level. Then compare the activity unlock against the current 7.56 notes.
Use your current duty requirement as the next target, then compare tomestone, raid and crafted routes. No item-level purchase order is claimed without a full current reward table.
The duty finder and quest journal are the reliable account-specific checks. Beastmaster starts after The Ultimate Weapon and a level-50 combat job.
Review current capped currencies, weekly duty rewards and any raid limits shown in game. AAC Heavyweight Savage rewards are no longer weekly-limited in 7.56.
Follow main-scenario and sidequest unlocks in the duty finder. Avoid assuming every 7.5-cycle activity is available to a returning character.
Check quest chain access and current reward restrictions in game before scheduling a run.
For standard jobs, follow available story and duty experience; for Beastmaster, FATEs have a special experience bonus while open-world kills do not.
Disciple of the Hand and Land progression has different materials and activities from combat gearing. Review the current recipe and gathering logs.
Meld only after identifying the gear set and content threshold you need. Check collectible turn-ins and scrip rewards in the live client.
A recurring crafting and gathering route; check weekly allowances and your eligible clients in game.
